Passion for Graphic Design and Property Development
I’ve been fortunate to combine my two passions—graphic design and property development—throughout my career. After 20 years in design and over a decade in property, I now help other professionals create a second income stream for a more secure future.
How It All Began
I originally studied electrical engineering when I left school, drawn to its problem-solving aspects and hands-on experience in construction. But at 21, I craved a different lifestyle. Moving to London, I leaned on my artistic skills and some basic Photoshop lessons to launch a design career, starting with flyers for local bars and clubs.
That small beginning led to a turning point—a PR agency spotted my work and invited me to pitch for Sony PlayStation. We won the contract, and within three years, I had my own studio with a team of designers. We worked with major clients like Sony, Virgin, and Telstar. Life was exciting, but the success came at a cost.
The constant pressure—clients changing their minds, tight deadlines, managing a team, and handling the business side like payroll and taxes—left me burnt out. Financially, we were thriving, but I felt trapped, far from the freedom I envisioned.
A Game-Changing Lesson
My mentor gave me advice that stuck: “You’ll never get rich selling your time for money. Rich people have multiple income streams. You need to diversify.”
That’s when my property journey began. I knew I needed a Plan B—something independent of my creativity, low maintenance, and consistent. I bought my first Buy-to-Let property, and it was the best decision of my life. Over the years, building a property portfolio has provided a steady income, balancing the highs and lows of life in the design industry and offering true financial freedom
The Next Chapter: Interior Import Group Ltd
A few years later, I pivoted further into property development by founding Interior Import Group Ltd. This company was created to deliver bespoke interiors tailored to designers’ specifications. We specialise in custom joinery, kitchens, and furniture production, working with a dedicated factory partner to ensure precision and quality.
Starting as subcontractors, we worked on projects ranging from £100k to £1 million, gaining invaluable experience in the property development workflow—from design and production to installation.
Today, we’ve expanded Interior Import Group into a full-service solution. We manage projects, budgets, and timelines for investors, delivering successful property developments across Norfolk. This seamless service combines our deep understanding of design and property to create outstanding results for our clients.
